Enjoy the mesmerizing photos from Smithsonian Photo Contest 2014
Smithsonian Photo Contest, started 13 years ago by the Smithsonian magazine to be held annually, is a prestigious photography competition that attracts thousands of photographers around the world. In the last year alone, over 26,000 photographs were submitted for the contest from 93 different countries. So it should be, as the contest is divided into six categories – Natural World, People, Travel, Altered Image, Americana and Mobile. Every year, the in house photo editors choose 10 photographs for each category as the finalist before deciding the Category Winners, Grand Prize and the reader’s choice. The finalists of 2014 have been revealed recently in the magazine’s website, and we have compiled some of the best images for you.
