A refocused design in Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge comes at a cost
No more teaser guys, Samsung has unveiled the much anticipated sequel of Galaxy S5, two all new phones – Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge. Like the latest phones of the Note series, both of the phones are almost similar except the Galaxy S6 Edge sports a curved display. The phone will be available worldwide from April 10th and all the four major carriers along with the US Cellular will carry the both flagship phones. However, small carriers like Cricket Wireless, Boost Mobile, etc. will only offer the Galaxy S6.
A whole new design philosophy and the usual list of top notch features
After hearing a huge amount of complaints about the cheap plasticky feel of the otherwise top end Galaxy flagship, and a drastic fall of revenue with Galaxy S5, Samsung has finally listened to its consumers. The new flagship devices come with metal frame holding the glass front & back panel. However, the Galaxy S6 sports a flat display instead of the two sided curved displays of Galaxy S6 Edge. The new devices look outstanding and finally feels premium to hold. Whatever, you would still find some visual similarities with the iPhone while looking from certain angles.
Is there any loss of the new design?
Yes, there are a few. To accommodate the new design philosophy, Samsung has to leave some of the flagships unique offerings – removal battery, Micro SD slot and waterproofing. You probably didn’t care about them anyway. Even if you did, you probably can leave without them.
