The Bajau, or the Sea Gypsies living in the paradise of Borneo

These sea gypsies neither know, nor care about the American Dream

In this era of very advanced civilization, it’s hard to imagine people who belong to no country, the people who remains the son of earth, not the son of any specific geographical limit imposed by the so called civilized society. Well, these people do exist. Like the Reindeer people of Mongolian north,The Bajau also lives far away from the society. They live on a boat or in the floating villages built around the coral reefs of the paradise island of Borneo. They live by catching fish, has no education or sense of age, and is neither recognized nor accepted by any country. They are not forced to live like that, but has no intention of leaving their very own little paradise. Recently, a French photographer named Réhahn has spent a few days with the sea gypsies and came back with some stunning photographs, and we decided to share some of them with you.
